TRACTOR!

When a tractor is left all  a l o n e  on the side of the road, you have to take a picture while riding it. I mean, in the world of little boys, to just drive by a tractor would simply be criminal. And after the Kroger mishap {ahem} we are trying to be crime-free people around here.

And hello! We're wearing our John Deere t-shirt! Talk about picture perfect!
{Let's be honest, Jackson seems to be wearing that t-shirt a lot these days.}

A Harwell Perspective

If I haven't mentioned the following information before, forgive me.
{I blame it on Mama Brain. I can still use that excuse, right?}

Jeremy Harwell is one of the BEST photographers I have ever encountered. EVER. And I'm not just saying that because he and his family are some of our most treasured friends. He simply has a gift. If you haven't checked his site on the right ----> you're nuts. Do it. {Seriously.}

When we are together as families we never ask Jeremy to "work". We want him to exist in the moment. But every now and again he sneaks out his iphone and captures Jackson at an angle his parents missed. And we always love his "sneaky photos".

The following three photos capture Jackson's love...LOOOOOVE...of ice cream perfectly. Hence the reason it was his request over any type of cake.

And finally, a great picture of the Harwell kids with the birthday boy. Jeremy, thank you for once again capturing such sweet moments!

INK!

Today we had a special field trip with Jackson's friends, Alex & Luke. We traveled a short distance north to INK, an interactive children's museum in Gainesville. The museum is designed to allow the children to "role play and learn through practical experiences about being a teacher, banker, grocery store clerk, doctor, dentist and much more." It was fantastic!

The museum boasts a real airplane, antique fire truck, police car & tractor.
It is a little boy's dream come true.

If you're local, you should take advantage of this treasure & make a visit.
Do you see that little boy eyeing the Twinkies?
Mama took a bit of an issue when he piled the cleaning supplies high in the cart. "What are you trying to say, Jackson?" Maybe I should start a chore chart. I mean, he is TWO, right?

This enclosed exhibit was incredible. A small "city" that the children could control with the buttons on the side. They could "control" the operations of a crane, fire station, restaurant drive thru, lawn service, etc. It was a hit.
Luke at the controls. He kept watch over the fire station.
Fire Fighter Alex!
Why does this give me the feeling that I'll be looking at those letters Y-A-M-A-H-A again in the not-so-distant-future?
The abacus is for serious mathematicians.
Did I mention that they have a farm exhibit? That's my baby milking a cow. Look, he had on a John Deere shirt. What did you expect?
You can't have a children's museum without a talking chicken.

Happy {2nd!} Birthday Sweet Boy

We had such a special day celebrating Jackson's second birthday.
Part of me cannot believe that two years has already passed. And the other part is so excited to see what this next year holds.

We kept it simple this year with our celebration. Jackson's godparents, The Harwells, and their precious children joined us for a special dinner and Jackson's dessert request, ICE CREAM {with sprinkles!}.

We were blown away by the generosity of friends both near and far. Each card and gift was such a treasure to our sweet boy.

I had a lot of fun creating the decorations for Jackson's party. A dear friend had shared with me some websites and tutorials to create a banner. I love the way it turned out.

I hope you enjoy the montage of photos capture by Trip today. Thank you again for your generosity towards our family. What I treasure most of all are your prayers. Please continue to pray that Trip and I listen to the Lord as we lead our son, and that Jackson hears the Lord in his heart.

A Friday Foto

Everybody's birthday weekend should start with Nutella, right?
1 year, 363 days.
Have a great weekend everybody.
Next time you "see" Jackson, he'll be...
TWO!

Mama Recommends

Y'all.

I have traveled with my sweet boy several times through the friendly skies and I have never had such a pleasant flight as this summer's flight to Ohio.

Jackson is a tall, active boy. The days of him sitting on my lap in the tight row of an airplane are gone. G O N E. I didn't mind the discomfort. But the people sitting in front of him did. Ahem.

The harness attaches to the seat and the lower loops connect to the seat belt. I did it in 30 seconds. The best part: the harness fits in your carry-on. No more lugging that crazy carseat through the airport. The flight attendants fussed all over us commenting that they wished more people realized that most carseats do NOT fit in the seat. They love this harness. And I love being in good graces with the people who will deliver more pretzels if "someone" needs a bribe distraction.

I cannot recommend this product enough. Check out the site and watch the "how to" video. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
